The extension does not connect or answer

Fixes for the Chrome and VS Code extensions.

  • Connect does nothing: make sure you are logged in at chat.codegpt.it.com in the same browser, then press Connect again.
  • "Connect did not work": on the connect page open Did not connect? Copy your key instead, copy the key, then in the extension open Settings › Paste a key (VS Code: Command Palette › Code GPT: Paste a key).
  • "Chrome does not let extensions read this page": Chrome blocks extensions on its own pages (chrome://, the Web Store and new tabs). Open a normal website.
  • "Allow Code GPT to read this site": press the button again and choose Allow in Chrome's question.
  • The answer stopped: you may have reached your daily limit. See Daily limits.
  • VS Code does not open after Allow: copy the key from the connect page and use Code GPT: Paste a key.
