Fast, Balanced and Advanced: which should I use?
The model menu changes how quick and how thorough answers are.
The menu at the bottom right of the message box has three levels:
- Fast: quickest answers for simple questions.
- Balanced (default): the best mix of speed and quality for most tasks.
- Advanced: thinks longer. Use it for difficult maths, long documents, tricky code and important writing.
Your choice is saved for your next chats. You can also set it on Customize › Preferences, together with answer length (Short, Standard, Detailed) and style (Concise, Balanced, Detailed).
